Yes, it can. You can always swap out the strings to be orientated for a left-handed player.
All the strings on this guitar are nylon. Three of the bass strings contain a coating with a texture that helps the nylon create the bass notes. However, they are not steel strings, rather the coloring of the coating may give that impression.
It is not uncommon for bridges to creak during the tuning process as there is tension being applied to this area of the guitar. Sometimes the noise may come from the strings, rubbing against the saddle, as some of the strings have ridges. The noise may even be originating at the other end of the guitar entirely, as the strings can make creaking noises when rubbing against the nut of the guitar too.

The pitch pipe included has 6 different pipes that play a note for each open string. To use this, you would blow into one of the six pipes and tune the corresponding string by matching the pitch. This is a great way to develop and cultivate the skill of audibly matching pitches for young/beginner musicians.

A guitar should be retuned every time you play it. Make sure you have tuned your guitar as it may be the culprit of the string(s) sounding off. If you have retuned and determined that this is not the cause of a string(s). All strings, especially nylon strings, stretch over time, which may cause them to not sound in tune. Strings can be replaced individually or all at once. Don't forget to retune your guitar once you're done.
If the tuning pegs are not tightening your strings, you can try ti tighten the black screws located on the outside of the tuning peg.
You can place the bottom part of the strap on the knob located on the base of the guitar.
For the placement of the other part of the strap, it can either be placed on the knob located on the neck of the guitar or it can be tied to the headstock of the guitar with the strings provided. This placement is solely base on preference.
